- The most scenic route is the train from Hua Lamphong station (about 4 hours). Minivans from Victory Monument take 3 hours. Driving takes 2.5 hours via Highway 35 and Route 4.
- Hua Hin transforms on weekends when Bangkok residents flood in. Hotel prices can double and restaurants fill up. Visit Tuesday to Thursday for the best rates and a calmer atmosphere.
- Green songthaews run the length of Phetkasem Road for 10-20 THB. Motorbike taxis and tuk-tuks are everywhere. Renting a motorbike (250 THB/day) is ideal for exploring Khao Takiab and nearby beaches.
