It is one of the most photographed landmarks in Hua Hin and a window into the town's roots as a humble fishing village before it became a royal resort. ## Morning Fish Market Early risers who arrive around 06:00 to 07:00 are rewarded with the sight of fishing boats returning from their overnight trips. Traders descend on the pier to collect their orders, and you can buy fresh squid, fish, crabs, clams, and mussels directly from the boats at wholesale prices. It is a lively, authentic scene that most tourists miss. ## Sunset and Photography In the late afternoon the pier transforms into Hua Hin's premier sunset spot. The silhouettes of moored fishing boats against an orange sky create a postcard-perfect scene. Local and visiting photographers line the pier railing around 17:30 to 18:00 to capture the moment. ## Waterfront Seafood Restaurants Several excellent seafood restaurants are built on their own wooden piers alongside the main dock. Ketsarin, Chaolay, and Jae Kiew are long-established favourites serving ultra-fresh catches at reasonable prices.
