- Take a minivan from Bangkok's Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekkamai) to Ban Phe pier (3-3.5 hours). Speedboats to Koh Samet take 15 minutes and ferries take 40 minutes. Most boats land at Na Dan pier.
- Koh Samet is part of a national park. Foreign visitors pay 200 THB entry fee at the pier. Keep your receipt as rangers occasionally check. Thai nationals pay 40 THB.
- Visit Rayong's orchards between April and June for durian, rambutan, mangosteen, and longkong at their peak. The annual Rayong Fruit Festival in May or June is a colorful celebration worth attending.
