Silom Edge Songkran 2026: Bangkok's Biggest Water Party Returns to Silom Road
Silom Road Is the Place to Be This Songkran
Every April, Silom Road transforms from Bangkok's central business district into the city's most legendary water fight zone. For Songkran 2026, the private-sector venue Silom Edge has announced a dedicated event running from 12 to 14 April, bringing DJs, live music and organised chaos to one of the festival's most iconic stretches.
The Bang Rak District Office has already called a meeting of all relevant agencies to coordinate safety and logistics for Songkran on Silom Road, signalling that this year's event is expected to be one of the biggest yet.
What to Expect at Silom Edge Songkran 2026
The event is centred around Silom Edge, the mixed-use complex on Silom Road near BTS Sala Daeng. Highlights include:
- Free live concert by Thai artist Hai Apaporn Nakhonsawan on 13 April from 4pm to 5pm
- DJ sets by well-known DJs from BEEF.BKK throughout the three-day event
- Central dance zone on Silom Road β a long-standing tradition where thousands of people gather to dance, splash and celebrate in the street
- Street food stalls along the road selling Thai festival favourites
- Free water refill point so you can keep your water guns topped up without buying plastic bottles
Entry to the event is free.
Practical Tips for Songkran on Silom
Songkran on Silom is not a spectator event. You will get soaked. Here is how to make the most of it:
- Protect your phone. Bring a waterproof pouch β you can buy them at any 7-Eleven or market stall nearby for around 50 to 100 THB.
- Wear quick-dry clothes and sandals. Leave your good shoes at the hotel.
- Carry minimal valuables. A phone and some cash in a waterproof bag is all you need.
- Stay hydrated. It is April in Bangkok, which means temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius. Drink water often.
- Arrive early afternoon. The action on Silom typically peaks between 2pm and 6pm.
- Know the rules. Check the Songkran water gun rules and fines guide before you head out β there are restrictions on where and how you can participate.
How to Get There
Take the BTS Skytrain to Sala Daeng station (Silom Line) or the MRT to Si Lom station. Both drop you right at the action. Expect the stations to be busy β give yourself extra time and be prepared for temporary crowd-control measures around the exits.
Why Silom?
Bangkok has several major Songkran zones β Khaosan Road, RCA and Siam Square among them β but Silom has the longest history as the city's main water festival street. It draws both Thai locals and international visitors, and the combination of a wide road, tall buildings and a party atmosphere makes it unlike anything else in the capital.
If you want a music festival experience on top of the water fights, the Siam Songkran Music Festival (Martin Garrix, Marshmello) and the S2O Songkran Music Festival both run during the same period. For a more cultural take, Phra Pradaeng in Samut Prakan hosts a traditional Mon-style Songkran just outside Bangkok.
