Once approved by BOI, you receive an endorsement letter. Take this to a Thai embassy abroad to obtain the LTR visa stamp, or apply at an immigration office if already in Thailand on another visa type.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the LTR visa and the Thailand Privilege Card?
The LTR visa (50,000 THB) is significantly cheaper than the Thailand Privilege Card (from 600,000 THB) but has much stricter eligibility requirements. The LTR offers tax benefits (17% flat rate) and work permit facilitation, which the Privilege Card does not. The Privilege Card is easier to qualify for (no income requirements) and includes VIP lifestyle perks. The LTR is better for high-earning professionals; the Privilege Card suits those who want hassle-free residence without working.
Can my family join me on the LTR visa?
Yes, your spouse and children can apply for dependent LTR visas. Up to 4 dependents per LTR visa holder are allowed. Dependents receive the same 10-year visa and benefits. Each dependent application costs 50,000 THB.
Do I need to live in Thailand full-time on the LTR?
No, there is no minimum stay requirement. You can enter and leave Thailand as often as you like. The visa allows unlimited entries and each entry permits a stay of up to 1 year before you need to exit and re-enter.
What are the target industries for Highly Skilled Professionals?
Target industries include: next-generation automotive, smart electronics, medical and wellness tourism, agriculture and biotechnology, food processing, robotics, aviation and logistics, biofuels and biochemicals, digital economy, medical hub, defense, and the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
