The Trang Islands — Koh Kradan, Koh Libong, Koh Ngai — are each distinct: Kradan has what many consider the most beautiful beach in Thailand (a bold claim, but standing on its eastern shore watching the sun set behind Koh Muk, I was inclined to agree), Libong is famous for its dugong population, and Ngai offers snorkeling straight off the beach in coral gardens teeming with parrotfish and clownfish. Trang gives you all of this without the crowds, without the full-moon-party infrastructure, without the sense that paradise has been optimized for Instagram.
