A New Riverside Vision for Bangkok

Asset World Corporation (AWC), one of Thailand's largest hospitality and real estate groups, has launched "Bangkok Spectacular 2026" — a destination-led initiative aimed at transforming the Chao Phraya riverfront into a year-round cultural tourism corridor. The programme is backed by partnerships with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Department of Mineral Resources, and Mahasarakham University.

THAINOSAUR Museum Opens Its Doors

The centrepiece of Bangkok Spectacular 2026 is the THAINOSAUR Museum, a new immersive attraction dedicated to Thailand's paleontological heritage. Developed in collaboration with the Department of Mineral Resources and Mahasarakham University, the museum showcases the country's rich fossil record through state-of-the-art exhibits, interactive displays, and educational experiences.

Thailand has a surprisingly deep dinosaur history. The northeastern Isaan region has yielded significant fossil discoveries over the past four decades, including species found nowhere else on Earth. THAINOSAUR brings those stories into central Bangkok, connecting them to the existing Fossil Park and Hatch Dome attractions to form an integrated learning ecosystem within the city.

The museum is designed for all ages, with tactile exhibits for younger visitors and detailed scientific displays for those who want to dig deeper into Thailand's Mesozoic past.

More Than a Museum

Bangkok Spectacular 2026 extends beyond a single venue. The broader initiative positions the Chao Phraya riverfront — already home to ASIATIQUE The Riverfront, Wat Arun, and a growing cluster of riverside hotels — as a unified cultural district. AWC's vision ties together art, history, food, and entertainment along the river, encouraging visitors to spend multiple days exploring rather than treating the area as a single-evening stop.

The programme also emphasises sustainable tourism practices, aligning with TAT's wider push to elevate the quality of Thailand's tourism offering in 2026. Events and activations are planned throughout the year to maintain visitor interest beyond the typical peak season.

Getting There

The Chao Phraya riverfront is accessible by BTS (Saphan Taksin Station, then Chao Phraya Express Boat), MRT Blue Line (Sanam Chai Station for the Old Town side), or taxi. ASIATIQUE operates its own free shuttle boat from Saphan Taksin pier. The THAINOSAUR Museum is located within the ASIATIQUE complex.

Pair your visit with a stop at Wat Pho or the Bangkok National Museum nearby for a full day of culture along the river. For more to explore in the capital, browse our Bangkok top attractions guide.
