A 36-Storey Swing Above the Chao Phraya

Bangkok has a new landmark on its skyline. SkyFlyers: Wings of Garudapterus opened on 29 November 2025 at Asiatique The Riverfront and stands 135 metres tall — equivalent to a 36-storey building. It is officially the tallest giant swing ride in the Asia-Pacific region and one of the tallest in the world.

What Is a Garudapterus?

The ride is themed around Garudapterus, the first pterosaur species ever identified in Southeast Asia. The fossil was discovered in Thailand, making this a uniquely local story told on a massive scale. The attraction combines the thrill of the ride with paleontology-themed spaces, including the Garudapterus Hatchery where younger visitors can "hatch" their own prehistoric companion through interactive displays.

The Ride Experience

You board alongside 23 other passengers on a giant rotating arm that swings you high above the Chao Phraya River. The ride is smooth and secure. Evening sessions are the most popular because the panoramic views of Bangkok's skyline lit up at night are spectacular — you can see the river, Wat Arun and the high-rises of Sathorn and Silom from the top.

Tips for Your Visit

  • Go in the evening — the sunset and night views are the main draw. Aim for a ride between 18:00 and 20:00.
  • Combine with Asiatique — the riverfront complex has restaurants, shops and the Jurassic World experience, so plan a full evening.
  • Not for the faint-hearted — the ride reaches serious heights. If you are nervous about heights, watch a round from below first.
  • Kids welcome — the interactive Garudapterus Hatchery area is designed for families and does not require riding the swing.

SkyFlyers adds genuine world-class thrill to Bangkok's growing list of riverside attractions.
