Traveller receiving premium arrival assistance at a modern Thai airport

Formerly Thailand Elite Visa

Thailand Privilege.
What do you really buy?

A long-stay membership, not permanent residence.
Compare five tiers by real time horizon, upfront cost and service use. Then check the one-year stay stamp, 90-day reporting and work limits that premium marketing can hide.

Start with the price architecture

Five cards. Two genuinely different decisions.

Bronze and Gold buy five years; higher tiers mainly buy a longer base term and more annual points. Select a tier to compare the upfront payment with the bare price per base year.

Bronze calculated

Upfront650,000 THB
Per base year130,000 THB

The lowest headline entry price, without an annual points budget. Official material describes Bronze as a limited offer.

No standard Next Member route

Calculation: membership price divided by stated base term. This is not an annual payment option and does not value points, services, exchange rates, tax or lost return on the upfront money.

Remove the marketing layer

You buy convenience around temporary stay — not every right around it.

Privilege Entry status can make repeated long stays more predictable. These boundaries remain essential before a large upfront payment.

Included at the core

Multiple-entry PE status

A one-year stay from each correct entry stamp during the membership term.

Arrival and contact service

EPA at selected airports and a multilingual Member Contact Center.

Administrative assistance

EPL may assist with reporting, banking and driving-licence processes; tier, points, quota and area apply.

Privilege points from Gold

Points can be used within the current partner and service catalogue.

Not automatically included

Permission to work or study

The official provider states that no tier grants this under the PE visa.

Permanent residence or citizenship

A long membership term does not convert temporary stay into permanent status.

Automatic tax exemption

Visa status alone does not decide tax residence or liability.

Health insurance or unlimited service

Insurance is not a membership requirement; many privileges use tiers, points, quotas or booking terms.

The clocks still running

A five-year membership is not five years on one stamp.

Track four separate clocks. The shortest one determines your next action.
Clock 01

On entry

Check immediately that the PE stamp gives the intended one-year stay. Raise an error at arrival.

Clock 02

Every 90 days

Reporting remains required during uninterrupted stay. TPC assistance is not universal or unlimited.

Clock 03

Before one year

A correct re-entry can create a new stamp; an in-country extension follows current Immigration rules and fee.

Clock 04

Membership term

The card runs 5, 10, 15 or 20+ years. Offers, points and service partners can change.

Run the route check before paying

Privilege wins on convenience. Other routes often win on price or rights.

This comparison separates service comfort from permission to work, study or follow a specific long-stay purpose.

After approval, before a long lease

Test your Thai home base for one month.

A five-year card cannot tell you whether Bangkok, Chiang Mai or an island fits your daily rhythm. Start flexibly, then decide on an annual lease.

Questions measured in UK search

Thailand Elite Visa questions, answered with current terms

The answers combine ten live UK SERPs and 57 verbatim PAA questions with current Thailand Privilege package, fee and stay rules.
Who qualifies for the Thailand Elite Visa or Privilege Card?

Current membership terms require a foreign passport and lawful status, and list disqualifying issues such as relevant imprisonment, bankruptcy and legal incapacity. Applicants undergo a background check. Paying the application fee does not guarantee approval.

How much does the Thailand Privilege Card cost?

Current official comparison material lists 650,000 THB for Bronze, 900,000 THB for Gold, 1.5 million THB for Platinum, 2.5 million THB for Diamond and 5 million THB for Reserve. Bronze and supplementary family offers can be temporary, so verify the live package and invoice before payment.

Is the Thailand Privilege Card worth it?

That depends on actual use. Compare the upfront price with years genuinely used, arrivals, liaison services and points you will redeem. DTV or LTR can provide a much cheaper stay route when you qualify, but they do not buy the same concierge-style service package.

Can you work on a Thailand Privilege or Elite Visa?

The official provider says the Privilege Entry visa does not itself permit work or study. Remote work, Thai employment and education should be checked under the appropriate visa and work-authorisation rules before paying for membership.

Do members still make 90-day reports or yearly extensions?

Yes. The holder remains responsible for 90-day reporting during uninterrupted stay. Support depends on current tier, points, quota and service area. A PE entry normally gives one year, and the official rules describe an in-country extension process with physical attendance and an Immigration fee.

Is Thailand Privilege permanent residence?

No. It is a paid membership with a Privilege Entry visa for temporary stay. It does not itself grant permanent residence, citizenship, tax exemption, a work permit or property rights.

Can family join the same Thailand Privilege membership?

Each person needs an approved membership or status. Official material describes supplementary or Next Member options for Platinum, Diamond and Reserve, but prices, eligible relationships and promotion periods change. Check the live written offer before budgeting.

Is the 50,000 THB application fee refundable?

The official announcement says it is deducted from the membership price after approval. It is refundable, less the stated processing treatment, when Immigration does not approve the background check, but non-refundable in other circumstances such as missing the post-approval payment deadline.
